About Mr Vass
Róbert Vass started his professional career as the President of the Euro-Atlantic Center, a non-governmental organisation. In 2005, he founded the annual GLOBSEC Bratislava Global Security Forum. In 2006, he was elected Chairman of the Slovak Atlantic Commission and in 2008 its Secretary General. In 2016, as the whole network of organisations called Central European Strategy Council became GLOBSEC, RóbertVass became its President.
A key part of the GLOBSEC success story is the fact that it grew out of a student project to become a major international forum. Youth engagement has always been an integral part of GLOBSEC's work and Mr Vass remains it's strongest advocate.
In 2013, the first GLOBSEC Young Leaders Forum (GYLF) took place on the side-lines of the annual GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum. It provided young professionals with an opportunity to discuss current challenges in international affairs, improve policymaking skills and network with distinguished leaders and experts. Atlantic Forum is founded by a group of GYLF alumni.
