Earlier this week the Atlantic Forum contribued to the Simon Fraser University's NATO Field School (SFU NATO Field School) for the second time.

Following succesful observation of the Transatlantic Model NATO Youth Summit 2019 and the subsequent Champions of Transatlantic Youth Initative - which allows alumni of the SFU NATO Field School to become patrons of the Atlantic Forum with the sponsorship of third parties - the Atlantic Forum took a more proactive role in the 2021 iteration. Over the past year Atlantic Forum has developed it's NATO Centre of Excellence initative focussing on youth engagement with NATO's network Centres - leveraging it's network to link the CIMIC Centre of Excellence (CCOE) with the SFU NATO Field School.

During a panel on Tuesday 27th of July Atlantic Forum Director John Jacobs and patron Zdeněk Rod joined CCOE Director Colonel Frank van Boxmeer for an interactive panel discusson with NATO Field School participants and Atlantic Forum Patrons. Roughly 60 young professionals gathered for the online discussion. NATO Field School participants could use the input and inspiration of the panel for a crisis simulation involving the humand domain the following day.

As per the COTY agreement the new Alumni of the NATO Field School were able to use a promotion code to register as patron for free.
